The 3Cs - The Enemies of Security
Security, be it physical or cyber, is 90%-95% psychology and sociology, and only 5%-10% technology. The foundation of all security is awareness and vigilance. Without these, there can be no security. It follows then that there are three “C”s that are anathema to security:
· Complexity
· Confusion
· Complacency
The presence of any of these “C”s can be fatal to any attempt to establish security. Unfortunately, these three “C”s are rampant in the canon of common cybersecurity practices. If there is to be real security, rather than security theater, these three “C”s must be completely expunged from the canon.
